ive just done the head gasket on my pug 1.9 diesel and set the timing i set the timing by the proper located holes in the head and crank but its taking some starting and when it does start its noisier than it was and a hell of a lot of white smoke stinks ov diesel. im just wondering if the pump timing could be out a bit? and how to sort it?? ... and even if its a tooth or 2 out would it make a great deal of difference?. i would be grateful if someone could help me out,, cheers,
